My Hearthfire gripes...

Just a couple of my gripes that I think need fixing with Hearthfire:

Enemy Spawning.

Really? Do we really need enemies to spawn at our front doors? Particularly when we can't purchase a replacement chicken or cow...

Item Placement.

The current method of pressing and holding a button, then juggling an item around to put it on a surface is ridiculous, particularly when items have a tendency to catapult off at various times.

House Design.

We have a range of combinations of extensions for the various houses, but are limited in that certain ones can only be put on particular sides of the house. Why? In my case, I had the master bedroom extension on the western side of Wistand, and the library on the east. Now, that's good for a view from the upper balcony, but the view from the library tower is either a cliff face or the manor roof. It would be nice to either be able to have each extension on any side of the house, or to have the towers raised in height to see over the roof, at least. Again, it's pretty pointless to give us animal pens when after the first couple of bandit or chaurus or dragon spawnings, you have no animals to put in them. Further, apart from space requirements, why can't a greenhouse be a separate building, available for all houses, and why can't a fishery be a pond, again available for all houses?

Walled Manors.

As the houses/manors are fairly isolated, the option to wall them in (in conjunction with the removal of the spawn points) would be both immersive and good value.

Well-Tended Steads.

The 'build your house' book talks about our 'well tended stead' fields...perhaps I missed something, but my house up on the coast past Morthal is stuck on a rocky bit of a hillock, with skanky tufted grass and withered trees around it. Please include the option to get rid of the scraggy stuff, and perhaps actually build/develop some real fields.

There's undoubtedly more, but I'm just waiting to reload a save to get my cow back...

Just wait until Bethesda gives us a less, well, ugly province. That should offer some cool home locations with better views.
