Just got Dragonborn

Just got Dragonborn. I am still trying to make me a 'prema-character', and I have done the Companions, about level 18 and working on the Main Quest (Diplomatic Immunity). So is the DLC going to thrust me into it or does it only pick up when I actually travel to Solsthiem? I just don't want it to interfere with anything, especially like Dawnguard did (vampire attacks).

Speaking of which, anyone know if Dawnguard vampires still attack towns?

AFAIK, Vampires don't attack Solstheim.

You have to be recognized as Dragonborn by the Greybeards. So be sure to finish "The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller".

Soon, some cultists will attack and the Dragonborn Questline will commence.

Also, I would level 25-30. The enemies here are much tougher than those in Skyrim.

I plan on finishing the mainquest before moving onto Dragonborn though.

These cultists, do they randomly attack cities and towns like the Vampires did in the Dawnguard DLC, or is it one of those one-time events that randomly happens to me on the road?

Just a one time thing.
