Weaponsshoutingmagic problems

Okay, so I hope someone can help me out a bit. I have been researching this for what seems like hours and can't find anything about the issue. Basically, I had a PS3 copy of Skyrim which got stolen, so I bought a 360 copy very recently. I really wanted to play the Dawnguard expansion, so I leveled my character up to 10, connected to the internet and downloaded the expansion.

Well when the expansion downloaded, it also updated (I'm assuming 1.8, though I don't know for sure). When I went to play my game after that I couldn't unsheathe weapons or magic, or use shouts. I thought maybe the buttons were just going out, but then I tried another controller and I had the same issue. Then I tried using the buttons in the pause menu (to switch between different screens) and they worked just fine.

I know that whatever the issue is, it's related to the patch because I tried uninstalling and installing it multiple times, and when I uninstalled it and tried to play unsheathing and using weapons or magic and shouting would work fine. That's not really a good solution though, because if I play without installing the update then it logs me out of xbox live and I can't play the expansion.

I have also tried installing the game to the hard drive, to no avail.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or know how to fix it? Or am I pretty much screwed? :/ Thanks for your time.
