Kickstarter + Bethesda + Skyrim's Engine + Game of Thrones =

Post » Fri Mar 15, 2013 12:43 am

I love The Elder Scrolls
I love Game of Thrones

But if you think about it, if we used the same engine\tools than made a entire new game that was called Game of Thrones by Bethesda with the actors from the TV series to do voice over and make it a Game of Thrones story where YOU play "unknown\nobody" at first.

But as you go on in this world, events accour and you make choices that perhaps will place you in that place or the other place as this servant or a knight, but the focus would be -you be who you wanna be- but the rest in the world is pure Game of Thrones and could start with Season 1 + 2 in one game.

I don't know how things work at http://www.kickstarter.com/ but I would 100% donate my money to this!
Wouldn't it been fun to see how much money such idea would had raises nontheless Bethesda said yes before to do it or anyone else?
Just fans speaking loud with their money?

I don't think it's as simple as that.

This.

Slightly off-topic: is Kickstarter the latest 'hipster' trend? I've heard it a number of times in the last few days, but very rarely before that.

Should be.
*cries*

Game of Thrones is such a epic rich world and when Bethesda turned them down. So sad!
Because no game developers out there have done Game of Thrones justice! It's poor and awful.

It's where fans can make dreams come true!

Forgive my ignorance regarding Game of Thrones, but it sounds like what you're essentially asking for is Skyrim with a new coat of paint and only Nords.

To be honest, I'm really not interested in something like that.

Oh, A Song of Ice and Fire is nowhere near that restricted in geographic locale, nor the cultures explored. However, Westeros is an entire continent, and there are characters on other continents also. If you wanted an open world ASoIaF game, it'd be huge, or you'd have to restrict the different areas to different games.

Kickstarter is basically a fund-raising website as far as I'm aware. Explosm have used it to turn Cyanide and Happiness from a web comic to full blown web show. Yay!

EDIT: To add my opinion on the OP's suggestion: I would not buy that. Definitely not my kettle of fish.

I'm sure someone out there, perhaps not on this forum would buy that.
Real open world cinematic climix filled story that you can experience all these characters from Game of Thrones and their actions and impact on the world, as you also take part of it, ooooo!

GoT is a pretty crapsack world, though. You just have this urge to strangle everyone there.

EDIT: Also, if anyone's interested, Obsidian used Kickstarter to fund the development of a new CRPG closer to the old Baldur's Gate games. It's called Project Eternity.
