DLC? Don't Bother Crytek!

Post » Fri Mar 15, 2013 9:26 pm

it's just sad how dead multiplayer is already! i bet crytek is hard at work making DLC that no one is going to buy! C3 died faster then C2! instead maybe divert resources to fixing the game and getting players back?

i wasted my money once agian, as i mainly play MP games. i thought i would give crytek another chance, but they just can't seem to pull off a multiplayer game! sad, but true...

They should just redo Wars with better graphics / larger maps / more weapons and vehicles / NO COD CRAP and DX11 / Tessellation. THAT would sell.

What's sad is that they are actually doing better with this MP and fixing issues then they did with C2 but people are still leaving. I just think they had such a problem with C2 that the players got a bad taste in their mouth so they're quick to judge C3 and abandon it if they even see the slightest slowdown in fixes. It kind of is Crytek's fault that they abandoned C2 support so early on and left the players feeling uneasy about their product and support. Thus, it carried over to C3 and players are jumping ship early on just because they're scared of a C2 repeat.

Anyways, I think Crytek is doing better this round but it's losing players because they just can't keep up with the demand that is required after the C2 fiasco.

Crytek, keep up the good work on fixing C3 multiplayer, I want to continue playing. Please maintain support this round and gain back some loyalty amongst the consumers. You really have made some amazing games and I thank you for that. :)

To be far, they only released 3 patches for Crysis 1 and one of them was a pure security update, it was hardly polished.

I see plenty of server and people. Considering it's a crowded March marketplace, C3 is doing well and numbers will be boosted periodically by future sales, etc. as it was with Crysis 2.

The DLCs will be a total waste just like they were in C2, maybe worst. I won't be buying them unless I see some changes. We won't be hosting any DLC servers either.

I don't know what numbers you're looking at. C3 is doing much worst than C2 ever did with all it's problems. C2 had 4 times the players (after a month) than this game does now. There is no comparison.

If you select 'Region' filter you won't actually get all servers from that region come up. Doing an unfiltered look will give you a better picture, and generally it's in line with player population on C2 at this time period.

C3 also seems to have better developer support than C2 - note for example Fellblade listing banned Origin accounts. The (relative) lack of hackers also improves the outlook for long term health. We just need to hope Crytek UK have been contracted for a lot of DLCs, so that their anticheat folk are employed for an equally long time before the next project ;)
