What is it with these weird NPC's?

Everytime you slaughter some people (cultists, thugs, challengers, etc.), unless you drag their bodies into a ditch, or the Whiterun water supply (muahaha), even merchants will abandon their posts to gather and hover over, poke & prod those corpses.....INDEFINATELY!

Are they all closet necrophiliacs?

I'm in law enforcement...gawkers are pretty much par for the course...looting of the deceased is rare, but it does happen.

This is pretty close to fairly realistic behaviour.

Indefinitely? I've had people come and crouch over a body and 'pray' over it or some such thing, then move on. The bodies clean up eventually. Now days, for RP reasons, I'll generally move the bodies out of the way though.

I am retired law enforcement, but have yet to see a crowd stand over a body for three calendar days! Maybe mods have bugged my game with a zombie infestation?

It's probably because my Dovahkiin likes to draw funny little moustaches on their faces with charcoal.

I've seen men, women, and children kneel down beside corpses and hold their hands out over them.

It's really creepy.

It's true. I go full on Jigglypuff on them. I sing the song of the Dragonborn to them, when they complain how horrible my singing is, I go into a psychotic fit of rage, stick them with a fork to death, then draw moustaches and funny shapes on their faces.

I take my Bardwork serious.

LOL, true...I had to conduct an in-field ID on a three day old corpse once...there weren't many gawkers left after I lifted the cover I have to admit...

Thanks to a bit of advice on another thread, I've just spent a good part of my saturday morning going around and deleting as many of the age old bodies in my current game...thank the gods for pc console commands.

I've noticed my horses do this alot. Whenever I kill an animal or bandit or what not with my horse nearby, it'll plod over and stand over the corpse, lower its head to the body as tho to sniff at it.

I hate when a character dies, and every time you go there, the guards go "such a shame" and stuff like that. One time I killed a guard who did that.
