When did gamers become so soft?

Post » Sun Mar 17, 2013 7:27 am

I saw this in the Xbox forums, someone said that the "Elite" players should stop playing for a week so that newcomers can have fun with the game and not get owned. I find it ridiculous that the reason why there is not that many players is because there is an actual learning curve to this game that is challenging. I played C2 and had trouble in the beginning but I learned how to play and I gained a certain play style. Is this what you guys are noticing?

That could be due to how much easier and similiar majority of the FPS games are nowdays. Most of them are very easy to learn and the combat is more about who notices the enemy first rather than who is better marksman. I guess all of this "veterans go away" would be gone if majority of the FPS games had a proper learning curve.

It could be also due to the increased amount of forum users. A lot more people visit and post in forums, resulting in more of the "soft" players (Not trying to offend) showing in the forums.
