i don't take the Vigilant Recycler perk. i want the strongest stuff.

the only surplus ammo i use is the 5.56mm for the light machine. it is stronger then the standard and can get lots of it. good for killing nastys with low or no DT. not the best but can get lots of it.

i like the .50mg boom. not as good as a missle launcher. but still satisfying when taking 3 or more lesser nastys with one shot,

for the riot shoot gun, magnum. though i use the store bought ones. it is easy to create as much magnum as i need.

so what ammo do you use?

My favorite ammunition types are:

.45-70 Gov't- A bullet made purely for asskicking.

5.56- For it's wide abaliability.

5.56 is very good ammo, especially if you get armor piercing (AP) for the nasties- not much stands after an LMG with 200 rounds baby!! 5mm is also good (minigun and CZ). Besides, the NCR drops a ton of 5.56 ammo.

Don't buy surplus- never have.

With or without Hand Load- (Hand Load is always better)

.308- for ranged - AP is always good if need to drop DT (usually -15DT)
12 gauge slugs- close range- Riot shot gun is the best- 12 rounds of hot death at close range.
5.56- Armor piercing (-15DT) and normal: 200 rounds from the LMG

Also look at .223 for a 5.56 replacement- they drop like 8 DT
