Without FRAPS? (honestly, running Crysis 3 and Fraps is outrageous)

Yeah, someone mentioned another program somewhere that takes less power, but the quality is not as good. Just google for it.

What are your system specs? What level of detail are you running in Crysis 3? I can record C3 footage with fraps w/my GTX470 and low details at 60 FPS persistent.

Take a look into Mirriles Action! (especially with you have intel series 2nd gen or higher), Playclaw, and DXtory.

Try Mirillis Action!

http://mirillis.com/en/

You are able to record with 30 Fps (of course 60 if you want to) and you can play with 60 or more fps.
You can also choose the Resolution:

360p
480p
720p
1080p

Download the trial version and check it out.

MSI Afterburner and Mirillis are great free alternatives. DXtory isn't free but it personally the most flexible and versatile of the bunch. The demo version is fully functional but has a big watermark.

Fraps became obsolete many years ago, good that people are starting to realise that

Mirillis is not free. But you got the chance to earn your serial here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=63108&sid=bbd21e12638c2099d525bb5abdc3ddac

So what's the quality difference between Fraps and Afterburner?

I tried recording with Fraps, but it handily murdered my processor. I've since then overclocked everything and haven't tried recording since then, but this game is extremely hard on the CPU when combined with a recording program.
