1.9 patch live for PC?

Post » Tue Mar 19, 2013 1:08 pm

Ok, here is a strange happening. Today, my steam client updated, so I restarted and all was ok. Then I remembered that I put earlier Skyrim to not update, so I turned on the automatic updated on the properties of the game (on steam). So, after doing that, it began to download the 1.9 patch! I didn't realize it until I went in game and saw the version (1.9.29.0.8). Did anyone get the update? I didn't do the steps to get into the beta because I wasn't interested.

Yup. Me too. Time to jack it up to Legendary Difficulty.

INB4 Legendary is too easy.
INB4 Legendary just makes things boring, because the AI is the same.

NO. It's awesome.

Does this patch fix the issue where some Illusion perk Terror whatever effect the damage scaling of Fire spells?

It's not a bug. Some people think it's a bug, but they are mistaken.

Oh, great...

I selected the option Don't update this game but Steam has just done it... Cool, so I had an hour to play Skyrim but now I can't because I use SKSE and Script Dragon...

Thank you Steam.

Yours sincerely.

You are thinking of Aspect of Terror, which adds 10 points to the fire damage. Fire and Fear are closely linked. The top perk for Fire Destruction spells is Intense Flames, which is a Fear Illusion effect. If you know anything about Destruction, you will see that it is quite reasonable that a perk that boosts Fear effect also boosts damage caused by Fire Destruction spells. It's a nice and reasonable boost.

This.

The Aspect of Terror effect on Fire damage is not a bug. All it takes is a little thought, and the pieces of the puzzle fall right into place. It's with similar reasoning that I don't think that the Necromage effect is a bug either.
