Does this bother anyone else?

Bandits have more honor in battle than the Dragonborn.

Let's pretend for the moment that you're the knightly sort. You've just been attacked by bandits, in particular a bandit chief, who makes short work of your companion. Yet the bandit chief doesn't kill your companion; as soon as it is clear that he/she can't defend him/herself anymore the chief stops attacking.

After inflicting nearly a mortal wound on this bandit chief, he then drops to his knees and shouts "I yield!"

Admittedly, you are a knight that is not exactly new to this behavior. At the back of your mind you know this chief may act like all the others and merely try to attack you again once he recovers enough to do so. Yet, as a knight, it is not honorable to slay someone while they're basically begging on their knees and not defending themselves. This is also a bandit that just spared the life of your companion as well.

If only you had some actual rope to tie up the bandit and escort him to the nearest prison like you've seen both sides of the civil war do. But no, you're only options is to not attack and let him run around in circles crying before he gets around to attacking you again or hope your companion finishes him off for you.

And on that note, why are all the special horses in this game only ones you can get if you are of questionable morality. Where is my rideable white elk, dammit.

That would be a cool idea. They could have quests to hunt for the leaders like a bounty hunter.

Two reasons why I think they don't allow you to tie up bandits.
Game mechanics wise its just easier to have you kill them, then program the ability to take prisoners.
Role playing wise, you'll end up doing alot of "escort" quests rather then just playing the game.

Otherwise it does sound like a great idea.

I'd have no problems with that.

I wouldn't mind doing escort quest. Could have bandit ambushes along the way with bandits trying to get their chief back.

Btw remember that random encounter where you could untie the prisoner that was being escorted by guards?

There are plenty of those.

I agree that it would be nice to have a capture mode or feature. But then you will get some people doing sicko stuff like lining up a bunch of prisoners on clifftops and fus do rahing them...

There really isn't a whole lot that can be done to keep sicko players from not doing sicko stuff though. If there is a will there is a way and all that.

Role playing wise, you'll end up doing alot of "escort" quests rather then just playing the game.

That could lead to some good roleplaying drama though; does your character just kill this bandit just because it is easy to do so? How would they morally handle that and etc.

About the horse question I am on point with you. Why does the hero (thats us,) have to either be an assassin or thief to have the best horses? I think they should bring back the White unicorn from Oblivion as a suitable mount for a hero :D you can see on my profile picture that is what I did except I bulked her up Skyrim horse style.
