Changing resolution via console/config doesn't work! :(

Hello fellow nanosuiters! I have been trying to achieve supersampling or downsampling in Crysis 2 to bump the visual quality up a few notches. But i've been running into problems. I've got the Radeon 7950 and my monitor is a Dell 22" at 1680x1050. I heard you can set your preferred resolution via console or config, using the "r_Height = xxxx" and "r_Width = xxxx" command. Now, when running C2, the console says it's an unknown command and resolution is not changed.

Is there any way to bring Crysis 2 higher than my monitors native resolution? Or if you know how to get SSAA working for Radeon please let me know. I know there are tools like ToMMTi Systems SSAA but don't know how well it works. Also, i read somewhere that you can create custom resolutions in windows and then set higher res ingame, but I have failed to do this.

Thanks in advance.
