Hello all I am creating a Nord politician for RP purposes so obviously speech craft is a must what else should I go for in this build. For background purposes I am a Stormcloak sympathizer that is why i am facing the block at the beginning of the game. I escape and am trying to rally other holds to go against the empire. My character fought in the legion many moons ago and has turned away from picking up the sword but will convince others to fight for a free skyrim. Post your thoughts or ideas. Thanks gents

You definitely need a follower to do your dirty deeds.

Is he corrupt or true? If true, maybe an axe of Whitrun or other hold might make sense. Politicians also need money and be favored by the people, so help them out. Only visit storm cloak territory? Focus more on the civil war quests and helping the people. Only kill imperials, bandits, and Thalmor. Try not to be a drunkard, don't want people to think you can't do your job, hmmm. Wear common clothes if you want the support of the people or commoners. Marry a savvy spouse that can help your position or bridge the gap between you and the common man. Own the house in Windhelm. Collect books on past emperors and governments, eat at the inn with other citizens, and carry a big stick.

For most assaults and such during the war, you do not need to participate in the fighting. You can be seen as more of a Morale boon to the troops. The dragonborn is blessing your side in this battle.

Someone essential, like mjoll who also cares about the people and lives in stormcloak territory. I would use the axe of Whitrun or whatever Windhelm has.

Yes so you should get lots of money, the weapons given by each of the Western Holds (them giving you the weapon of their hold is like them giving in and siding with you). They will still have loyalty to the Empire and the Imperial Jarls will still be on the throne, so what you could do (and what I would do, and have done with my Imperial character) is have a follower do the Stormcloak questline's dirty work and win the war for you (in a manner of speaking) and you could travel from hold to hold making sure the new Jarls are complying with the Stormcloak beliefs and help them with any problems they may be having with their new hold.

Or, if you want an assistant who does the dirty work, perhaps a housecarl? Or someone with a low moral rate? Can't think of any though.

HAHAHHAAAA!! No. I think the Housecarl of Windhelm or any mercenary from a Stormcloak hold would do wonders.

I'm pretty sure anyone hired has a moral rate of 0.

She's also not a hireling, though. He's probably referencing mercenary followers like Jenassa or Marcurio, who you have to pay to get to follow you at first.
