50% off...should I buy?

I see that I can get the game for $30 right now. Worth it? I realize that the campaign is short, only about 6 hours. That's fine with me. That's not what I want the game for.

I want to see the amazing graphics and enjoy the multiplayer.

My concern is that the multiplayer won't last. This happened with Crysis 2. I didn't buy it until it was on sale and then there was barely anyone playing the multiplayer. So, do you think there will be populated NA servers until lets say the end of 2013?

How balanced is the MP? Any bugs?

BTW, I liked Crysis 1, thought 2 was alright but never got to really play the MP. Loved the Crysis 3 beta, thought the multiplayer was amazing.

Anyways, here's specs:

i5 2500k @ 4.4Ghz
8GB RAM
240GB Intel 330 SSD
GTX 680
120hz 1080p screen(3D)

At the end of NA peak times the playercount sits around 300 - 350. For instance... it's at 345 right now. The game popularity has plummetted rapidly.

But clearly you answered your own question if you enjoyed the beta and don't mind a short campaign.

Here's how I see it.. if you think Crysis 2 > Crysis 1 then now is a good time to buy.
If you enjoyed Crysis 1 much more then wait for the bargain bin.

If you really did enjoy the beta and think you'll like the short campaign then $30 is probably a good time to enter.

I'd say buy it. Yeah, people are saying the multiplayer's dying, but they said the same about Crysis 2 and a friend of mine had no problem finding servers only last year. I'm still absolutely having a blast with MP.

Plus I enjoyed the (unfortunately brief) campaign, their storytelling abilities have improved a LOT.

The campaign is good from an atmosphere perspective - the graphics and art direction are lush as always - but while the story is a good addition to the overall story, the writing, characters and plotting are all simplistic and poor, and the gameplay is bland. Not a patch on C2's SP in my opinion. You can stealth throughout the majority of the (very short) game, and the bow is both easy to use and the best weapon for virtually every situation, and you have it for the entire game, without ever really being troubled for ammo. Even on the highest difficulty.

Multiplayer is superb as always, but the population, while still viable, is hovering on the brink of death. TDM and Crash Site are still just about ok, but other modes such as Assault and Extraction are already virtually dead. It took Crysis 2 more than a year to get to the point Crysis 3 is at currently, and with the new Gears game out, it can only get worse.

I'd suggest renting first. You can easily finish the campaign in that time and then see if multiplayer feels alive enough for you.
