Idea for us console players

I'm new here, so if an idea like this has already been suggested, I apologize.

I have this OCD thing where I hate quest items being stuck in my inventory. I know they don't weigh anything, but it just irritates me!

I say instead of addressing them individually in patches, why not just make a patch which allows us to store them only in containers located in houses we own. This way we can still have them but they aren't clogging up the inventory.

Another idea is that the items could be sold, but only to your spouse. A message would pop up, "do you wish to sell this quest item"? The items would remain with her/him always, and you could buy them back later if needed.

It's a neat idea. But Quest Items by nature cannot be removed from the inventory under any means unless the quest associated with it is terminated. There's no way to stop a merchant from respawning items on an individual basis, and it's rather difficult to detect which containers are safe (and disallow/allow depositing of items based on that). Plus in order to do these things you'd have to fundamentally alter how quest items actually function.

Maybe something for the next game as I agree that Quest Items can be a pain. But I think it's too much work to do as a patch. I hope I'm proven wrong however :)

Only if the quest is finished.

These items were made this way so we wouldn't have people complaining that they sold it without knowing they would need it.

Sadly, people still complain.

Welcome to the forums!

Anyways, I also hate how all quest items are always in your inventory. My Thalmor character was just helping out his associate, Osgumund, with getting some dirt on a Talos worshiper, but he is now is stuck with a Talos amulet on him forever... This is really unfortunate because in real life if his colleagues, or worse, his superiors, caught him with a Talos amulet on him what would he say? That it was glued to him? Lol

Sounds like you picked up Roggvir's Amulet of Talos.

Shouldn't have done that.
