What I need: I'd like to PM some of you and pick your brains as I work on the project; I mention this publicly as I don't want to just PM-bomb half the forum - let me know if you're interested. I'm also open to suggestions on topics. I'm thinking a lot about the mythopoeic nature of the gods in Tamriel, but I'd love to hear all your ideas. Scholarly religious works can be, let's be honest, boring as snot. I'd love to know what would cause you to pick up, let alone buy, this book. I would like to see this be something not just for theologians and biblical scholars but something fans can sink their teeth into. I have no doubt the other authors feel the same way. So far there are five other authors and I'm hoping to do one or more chapter-length essays. I covet your thoughts.
Long version: I recently attended a religious conference and moderated a discussion on Religion and Technology. As an avid gamer it wasn't long before we were talking about the Elder Scrolls. Afterwards one of the participants (who has written several articles for Kotaku [see http://kotaku.com/theology/ ] and had some excellent thoughts on Dark Souls) invited me to join his current project. The publisher has affirmed their interest and we're looking to submit a manuscript by this summer, with our drafts due in by June.
We're trying to get an interview at Bethesda, too. I would LOVE to pick their brains about how they came up with the TES mythos.
