I was playing NV yesterday. Having fun with the Veni, Vidi, Vici quest. Did some savings and loadings, some quicksaves and quickloads - all the usual. Changed back and forth from 1st-person to 3rd-person a bit, as I normally do, but generally when in battle I stay in 1st-person. Anyway, I was in 1st-person for awhile, and then when I changed back to 3rd-person, my character was suddenly nowhere to be seen. No body, no clothes, no weapons. Nothing but the shadow of my previous self. I can see the shots being fired when I pull the trigger, but they're coming out of an seemingly invisible barrel on a seemingly invisible rifle held by a seemingly invisible person. At one point my character kind of faded into existence again, not completely, but in an transparent form. Faded in and out, but only for a few seconds. Wondered if I had found some incredible stealth armor without even knowing it, lol. But alas, even though I dropped all of my stuff - weapons and clothes and misc, all of it - I was still simply not there to be seen.

While it doesn't change the gameplay per se, it certainly changes the experience that I'm having when playing the game. I really hope this is something that can be fixed in some way.

Are you on PC? (edit: doh, obviously...) If so, try the scrolling button on your mouse to zoom in/out from your character?

Didn't help, unfortunately.... but it keeps fading in and out of transparency when I run around and shoot.

I found a glitch once where I fast traveled in third person, but while I was faded. It resulted in me keeping that ghost form until I got shot. But this was on the Xbox, but you could try it if you haven't yet.

While running around shooting aimlessly in my transparent form, I let something happen which I had never done before. I died. At the automatic load-up I was - as if by magic - visible again. I tried to leave the game, and load a new one - just to see if it was actually fixed - but alas, I was invisible once again. Now I know that every time I start playing NV, I just have to die once, and then everything's alright. It's a bit annoying of course, but it's to live with.
