Cant get another companion =

Post » Mon Mar 25, 2013 2:35 am

So my dude Farkas was slain (which i was very upset about) in a valiant battle we had with an ancient dragon. Now after Farkas' funeral I went out to find another companion to join me and when i try to recruit they keep saying "looks like you got someone already''. Is this fixable or do i just have to live being forever alone?

And this happened a while ago and starting from an old save isnt an option as id lose atleast 10 levels.

Maybe start a quest in which you're forced to leave your follower. Normally, I'd say the one where Farkas follows you, but you obviously can't do that one.

This issue has come up a lot, as of late. I thought I remembered this from last year. I was wrong. I must have had it confused with the Dead Thrall bug. It seems it is happening since the Dragonborn release.

I have been stewing on this to no avail. However, this suggested work around is brilliant. :tops: I hope it works. I anxiously await the outcome.

I miss my dude farkas. the way he said "what do you need take?" was always heartwarming. it was cool seeing both characters mine and him in all ebony armor at the time (i finally got 90 smithing and got some daedric armor yay)

The dungeon quest for the Companions is the only one I can think of. Not really helpful as you have obviously done that one.

Dawnguard quest with Serana is one where you have to drop your current follower...

The Erandur one might work as well? I just read something about getting a dragon quest from Vilkas And completing it. That supposedly kicks the follower off.
