Post your Crysis 3 input peripherals!

Post » Mon Mar 25, 2013 8:16 am

Hey guys. Thought this'd be an interesting thread to make:

I am currently using a Razer Abyssus 3.5G with a Claw-paw grip, a style born in Overclock.net, which is a combination of the claw grip and palm grip styles.

My mouse settings are 6/11 Windows sensitivity, Mouse Acceleration OFF, 20 to 25% sensitivity in the Razer driver with 3500dpi configured on the mouse.

This brings me to roughly the equivalent of 6/11 mouse accel off with a 800dpi mouse configuration, which is the absolute ideal mouse configuration for me. I got used to this when using a Logitech B110 800dpi mouse, polished my technique further with a Roccat Kova[+] set to 800dpi, and configured the Razer accordingly once my Kova[+] broke.

As for the keyboard, I'm using a Thermaltake Tt eSports Challenger Ultimate, but looking to replace it with a mechanical keyboard that has Blue LED backlighting and Cherry MX Blue switches (gotta love the clicky feeling). Super hard to find that in a Spanish key configuration, though...

Post your input peripherals of choice and their configurations here!

Logitech G9x at 800 DPI and 8/11 in windows, of course without acceleration. Always adjusting the ingame sensivility to 15% or less. Claw grip.

For the keyboard just a stock one, saving money for a SteelSeries 6Gv2.

I am using pretty much the cheapest peripherals you can find today, nothing as fancy as yours. I hold the mouse with a claw grip. If I try a palm grip, my fingers get stuck, I cannot bend them.

Also an overclock.net user, I am there everyday, though I mostly read the news articles.

My in-game sensitivity is default. I believe it's 25, isn't it?

I use in-game sensitivities either by default or in the lower part of the spectrum, usually within the first 25%.

Ingame sensitivity is set to 6.5, I never change that.
Mouse is Logitech G400 with claw grip, various DPI settings since I change it on-the-fly depending on weapon/scope:
1700 - Gauss/DSG/Takedown/Grendel
2000 - Scar/Scarab/Feline/MK60/OGR
2200 - Marshall
2500 - Pinger and some Battlefield 3 vehicles
5200 - Jackal. I just move it around randomly and shoot, all enemies die.

Mousepad is Razer Goliathus (frag speed edition), keyboard is Corsair K90 (MX Red).

Logitech G9x at 800 DPI

Nevermind this, it′s actually 5700 DPI with speed set to 0 in the logitech control panel and 8/11 in windows.

Decreasing the speed while increasing the DPI equals to the same speed but with much better movement detection.

DPI is basically like your monitor resolution: the more you increase it, the better quality. Having the speed increased when you do that is just a secondary effect.

I use a custom "controller" in the sense that it "controls" my in-game actions, other than that, it has no relation or resemblance to what you think you know a "controller" is in the conventional sense ( eg. thing with a bunch of buttons and thumbsticks ).

I use a custom modified Panther XL USB ver. 4 ( http://assassin3d.squarespace.com/usb-ver4/ ) which is a fused combination of a joystick and a trackball. I use the trackball with my left hand for aiming/looking and the joystick with my right hand for movement. The trackball portion has been modified with a disassembled 3600 DPI Logitech G400 gaming mouse which sits inverted underneath the trackball socket. The joystick has been modified to use a AKI 3.0 anolog Joystick Interface ( http://bspeclabs.com/Electronics/8-AKI30JoystickInterface ) which uses a flash programmable PIC18F2450 microntroller to convert it into a hardware keyboard.

The Trackball section has 5 "mouse-like" buttons -- 3 for the top fingers and 2 for the thumb -- and the joystick has 2 4-way hat switches, 2 thumb buttons, a trigger, and a pinky button. The joystick trigger microswitch has been replaced with the G400 mouse1 microswitch and the trigger, both thumb buttons, the pinky button, and the two thumb buttons on the trackball section have been directly wired to the G400 mouse.
