How can the Dragonblood absorb Harkon's gift?

Straight to the point...
Why did you survive when Harkon bit you?Was it the Dragon Blood? How can the Dragon Blood allow you to become a vampire?I have not seen any Vampire Dragons(mostly because Dragons are immortal by default, but still...)Are there any records of Vampire Dragonborns?Or is the LDB possibly the first?

Frankly, I don't see the connection. Both conditions have little to do with actual blood in your veins. Being a Dragonborn is more about your soul than your blood - you're a dragon's soul in a mortal body, so to speak. I don't see why this would affect vampirism in any way.

Harkon says that few mortals survive his embrace.

Probably because he usually embraces mortals when he wants a snack.

Because they aren't going to make it so that we die when Harkon bites us... there would be no Dawnguard questline if we died.
