Unofficial Patches, do you use them?

Post » Mon Mar 25, 2013 10:51 am

I never used one because I'm afraid it will ruin something.
But what do I know.

What is your experience with these unofficial patches?

I don't use them, but i never heard any one complain about them, they do actually fix a lot of bugs.

Of course. As a matter of fact they fix a lot of things which are broken in the vanilla game. Dont know why you think it could break something.

I used to think that too, but then I used them and crashes/freezing dropped by a substantial amount.

I've never heard of anyone having a conflict with any of these patches. They're awesome.

First mods I downloaded. Will never remove them, ever. I've played on PS3, I've had my share of bugs.

What if Bethesda fixes something that they fixed but in a different way, could this in the future destroy my save or something unforeseen?

I have
  • Dawnguard
  • Hearthfire
  • Dragonborn
Should I then download the unofficial patch for Skyrim first, then go from top to buttom or something? *erh* :|

Nope. They get frequently updated. When the 1.9 patch came out they updated the patches only a day later I think. Besides Bethesda doesnt even touch most things that get fixed by the unofficial ones. These guy know what they are doing and have much experience.
You should get the Skyrim Nexus and look the patches up and read the changelogs. You will probably find bugs in there that you have already encountered.

Should it be okey to just get these patches from Steam instead?
