» Tue Mar 26, 2013 3:56 am So here is my idea for a new faction, with every elder scrolls game I have always played as a monk which has always been fun and challenging, the main problem is there is not really a main faction that appeals to me or any other good character which really limits the content I can access during a play through.
My idea is perhaps a monastery that has just been founded in Skyrim, it starts off by just a small temple and a couple of followers from High Rock or something and eventually grows into a large and renowned temple as you complete the faction quest line and various side quests. I would like the temple to add a library where you can see the monks copy and translate books (adds new books with some drawings in them) and add them to the library during the day or even sell some for the upkeep of the temple. A meditation room where you can meditate to each nine divine for more powerful blessings (I would like an animation for this were you can sit on the ground with legs crossed haha, similar mechanic to sitting on a chair for example) Maybe a grand master room, a apothecary for the monks to make potions for the player and the community, mess hall, dorms etc the usual. I would also like there to a courtyard for the warrior monks to train and meditate.
New weapons, amours and robes that look simple yet elegant, take the bow for example there are too flashy and made out of metal! I like my bows to be long and made out of wood thank you, perhaps made out of different wood elm or oak for example as you level up with maybe a slight carved wood design. A new skill tree for unarmed (similar to the vampire or werewolf skill tree) dodging abilities, backflip anyone? kicking techniques, disarming techniques etc. Toggle hood up or down on amour. Spear like weapons added.
I would like the faction to actively send out patrols of warrior monks to keep the roads safe and help out distressed travelers (escorting them or healing etc), bandit hideout raids, setting up small camps throughout Skyrim as the the temple grows as more people come to the temple to make a pilgrimage and to donate money. New music when near temple to give it a more holier feel. Nine divines quests for each of them
