A Dumb and Greedy Question

Post » Tue Mar 26, 2013 8:00 am

Hello potential helpful person.
Here is my issue: I bought Fallout 3 a while back and now several years in the future desire to play said Fallout 3. Problem: I just bought an iMac and apple in their infinitely hip wisdom decided against putting a CD drive into the computer.
On the bright side, it is thin and pretty.
However, am I just hooped here? I know Blizzard offers their games as downloads (with a key needed, of course), is there any way to get Fallout 3 in a similar manner? Is it simply just too enormous to be downloadable? I have the key and everything, and dammit I'll fax an image of every disk to any cynical person who doubts I bought it. Remember faxes?
Do I just need to get an external CD drive? Because that would make me sad.

Thanks for any help on this. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm just a simple fellow who wants to indulge in a game he loved long ago. Will you take away my dream?

You can buy a digital copy of Fallout 3 on Steam.
But it doesn't work on Mac. It's a Windows only game. (as far as I know.. I might be wrong)

They didn't put a CD drive on the iMac for a reason. If you bought one without knowing that, you should research before you purchase

Thank you for the answer/lecture. But you're totally right. It's probably a good thing, time-wise. I suppose I bought the Mac for particular reasons (mostly thin and pretty related reasons) so this is just going to open up time.
Would've been nice, though.
Merci.
