Windows Vista was perhaps one of the biggest let downs that the software company have had to deal with in the recent past and in an effort to avoid such scenarios, Microsoft has put some effort into ensuring that the system requirements for Windows 8 are as few as possible. Some of the issues that were present with Vista edition included its incapacity to run on many systems, which resulted in class actions from disgruntled users. From the lessons learnt in the launch Microsoft went ahead and created Windows 7 that has been successful so far and recently did a launch of Windows 8.
One of the system requirements for Windows 8 includes a fast processor with speed of 1GHz or higher. Some of the most popular processors with such capabilities are AMD and Intel processors and they offer a more efficient means of power consumption and are perfect for thin systems. It is however worth noting that the Windows RT version found on portable devices looks a lot like the laptop and desktop version of Windows 8.
Memory system requirements for Windows 8, in particular the 32-bit version are at the very minimum 1GB and for the 64-bit counterpart 2GB. To get the maximum speed it is advisable that you do not skimp on RAM and if possible install as much as is possible. Be aware that 16GB of the hard disk space will be required to run the 32-bit while 20GB for the 64-bit. Microsoft DirectX 9 is one of the graphics system requirements for Windows 8 that will have you enjoy the images to the maximum.
