Should I kill Parthurnaax?

Post » Wed Mar 27, 2013 12:19 pm

The Enchants I put on him are far more valuable than the Thu'um silly. And Parthi was a wise bro, he'd understand that the Dragonborn needs the best armour to finish her task.

I suppose you use mephala's ebony blade or soul trap enchantment on all your buddies so they can be with you forever lol

I would use it on the Blades, well, mainly Delphine because she's annoying. Hahaha

I have never been able to bring myself to use that blade. Even on my most evil characters. Maybe that's a good thing?

For a Thalmor toady, you are unusually fond of the Blades.

Ya I joined them in my Imperial character who hates the Thalmor, not my Talmor characters. Probably should have specified.

well, at least before the 1.9 patch, I was unimpressed with that blade. I managed to get myself to empower it, and it's not worth the effort, you can't even smith it, or have the same reach of a normal 2-handed weapon.

By the Gods, you roleplay from more than one point of view now  ? I'm just messing, but yeah. Definitely specify.

Placing your trust in silly enchants instead of the Thu'um? Paarthurnax would be disappointed. Or would that be Yoda? It matters not. Also, if the Dragonborn can defeat Alduin without using Paarthurnax as armor, why would he ever need it. Besides, you can use any old dragon to make that armor, place the same enchants on it, and it'll work just fine. Then, you could have your enchanted dragon armor, and have the Thu'um power up. Seems like all win to me.

It has more sentimental value to me if I know it belonged to one of my murdered friends.

I'd rather wear my own set of dragon armor and still have Parthy around. To each his own.

Too late, I've taken a liking to you. Now get over here and give me your stomach so I can make a handbag.

Uhh... I can't. Maybe later. I think my mom is calling me... or something.

Anyways, enough off topic banter. Not that there seems to be much more to discuss. The majority seems to want to spare Paarthurnax. I have seen very good arguments to kill him in the past. However, there are just as many reasons to keep him alive. In any case OP, you asked our opinion. We answered spare him (for the most part).

OP do what you want, if you want to pray to the sky all day join the old men and if you want to go dragon hunting with a group of friends join the blades. I killed Paarthurnax, but the old men still remained friendly to me. UESP says it has something to do we me having found all the the non-questlocked/non-DLC words of power BEFORE I killed Paarth, so I got lucky.

Just make up your own mind OP, nothing much changes.

I agree with the do what you want OP part, but I don't agree that sparing Paarthurnax means you have to join the Greybeards, or do the things they do. I spared him, and I still go and kill tons of stuff, use my voice to destroy my foes, and go hunt dragons with my friends. Not killing Paarth doesn't make you a Greybeard, IMO.

It doesn't, it just means you decided to spare the one that helped you save the world.

Murdered because you murdered him.

That sounds awfully GLaDOS-y (Not what you said, what I said)...

I killed him and regretted it the blades really don't offer much from what I've seen. Plus its not like they lock you out of sky haven, I'd just ignore them asking me that. You can even still ask recruited blades to follow you right?

I can't do it. The Blades can dissapear to the tides of time. Parthurnaax will continue to exist and will not fail the Empire

I remember the first time I did the main quest I killed Pathy, but I had a major guilt trip and decided to refuse to kill him the second time round. So DON'T kill him, you don't want that bad karma on your soul.
