What would cause instant CTD?

Okay so, this is all in an attempt to not lose the last day of work since I got a lot of stuff done and I really don't want to have to redo it all. Here's the situation: As of this morning when testing my mod, the game randomly CTD's. No errors, no nothing, just plop I'm suddenly at my desktop and the game is nowhere to be seen.

All I've done in the last day or so is add a lot of new levelled characters, set up a whole character system, and done some tweaking to navmesh in my land. I noticed an odd thing earlier today, I was trying to convert my mod to an esm to test it, and GECKO wouldn't load it. I'd select my mod and hit load, and after about 5 seconds it would crash, every single time. So I loaded it in Edit instead, which worked, then I resaved it and tried GECKO again, it now worked.

However I think that just 'hid' the problem from GECKO and whatever is going on is still there. Obviously I have a problem, be it a rogue setting or corruption or something.

It may also be relevant that for the last few days (Up to a week maybe?) I've been getting a BSCode something assert error when I try to save the mod. I simply click ignore and it saves just fine. I figured it was another random error, and I was careful at first but it seemed to cause no issues. Could this be relevant?

Does anyone have any suggestions for things I could try or look for to save from having to go to a backup? I finally had a super productive period, and it would be lame to lose that. I'd also rather not spend all day (Or days...) figuring this out, so hopefully it's simple.

Thanks,
AJV

Is it an instant CTD when you load up Skyrim? Like before the menu shows?
