My Saved Game Disappeared

Post » Fri Mar 29, 2013 3:35 pm

Hello people,

I just registered here, hoping that you'll be able to help me, because if not, I'm screwed. I don't want to write an essay here so i guess i'll skip the introduction part and Im gonna tell you where the problem lies. As you might already noticed, the topic title pretty much sums it. I played today skyrim as usual, then my girlfriend came over and decided to try out skyrim because she also plays RPG and MMORPG. So she created new character, named it and all that stuff. After about 30 minutes she quit the game and after 4 hours I went to play some skyrim again. But what I saw was just.. horrible. All my autosaves just disappeared. I don't save my games with ESC - Save Game but rather I let the game itself to handle that with autosaves. I rarely save the game properly through the menu (only when, let's say, I'm about to pick a master lock so if I break all lockpicks I can load the game). Now it seems that all my autosaves were replaced by my GF's autosaves of the freshly started game. But I thought if it's a new game, with another character it's going to be saved as another autosave. Am I correct? Were the autosaves replaced by my GF's new game? If so, is there any way how to get my saves back? I have some saved game when I saved the game properly, but they are something like a month old, so I'm not going to play that for sure. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, I'm not a native english speaker (:

You're done. Autosaves save over other autosaves.

I should have known that -.- Thank you folks, I guess I'll just move on to another game for a couple of months before going to Skyrim again.

Im sorry you lost your game. :(
For stability of the game and shorter loading screens its best to disable all autosaves anyway.
In a Bethesda game it has always been good advice to save manually, save often and save in different slots.
