Good thing I saved this one when I first wrote it:

BackgroundAnemar was born in Alinor (the city) to high-ranking parents. Brought up in traditional Altmer methods Anemar was a typical High Elf, one that never left his home province because he did not feel the need to wander into "barbarian lands". After the Oblivion Crisis he was supportive of the Thalmor and helped them gain power in Summerset Isles. He served in the Thalmor as a covert agent where he was sent to other provinces for the first time, spending quite a lot of time in Valenwood where the Thalmor were busy subjugating Bosmer nobility. Anemar continued to serve the Thalmor for most of the Fourth Era.
However, the Great War changed things. He fought in Cyrodiil and was part of the occupation force there. He made acquintances with many humans and other supposedly inferior peoples, which made Anemar question his beliefs for the first time. Nevertheless, he remained in the Dominion's army and took part of the Battle of the Red Ring in which he fell prisoner to the Imperial Legion. By now completely dismayed at the Thalmor, he agreed to defect to the Empire and he was released on the pretext of "escaping". Anemar went back to the Thalmor and for the remainder of the war he spied on the Empire's behalf.
Following the Thalmor's victory in the war, things started to become increasingly dangerous for Anemar. The Empire was now largely collaborating with the Thalmor and the survival rate of foreign agents in Alinor was low. Anemar left for Hammerfell where under a new name assisted the Redguard resistance, claiming to be an Imperial officer from Cyrodiil. After two years fighting in Hammerfell Anemar proceeded to Cyrodiil where he settled down for a few years.
The Thalmor eventually caught up with him, and Anemar was forced to flee once again. He first tried to make it to Morrowind but after deeming it a far too dangerous place to live in he went for Skyrim. Afraid that the Imperials would turn him in, he tried to go through the border illegally but was caught up with the Imperial ambush at Darkwater Crossing. Anemar escaped with Ralof and started to forge his own life in Skyrim. He joined the Companions and quickly gained a reputation among the common folk. He turned out to be Dragonborn, and old ghosts came to him once again when he found out that the Thalmor were looking for the Dovahkiin. Anemar attempts to keep his nature a secret so he wouldn't be caught, and thus he resorts to wearing ragged cloaks and robes to cover himself.
When visiting Winterhold once, he came about Faralda, to whom he immediately took a great liking. Though he was no mage, he still went to study in the College of Winterhold and eventually even managed to become Arch-Mage (though a heavily non-practicing one). Anemar was not content in the College and left to wander the province, taking Faralda with him. The two have been traveling together for months now.
In the College Anemar took a new interest to his life: Knowledge. He hoards books and often finds himself making deals with the Daedra for even a slight slip of power and information. Achieving immortality has likewise become a goal for him. After defeating Miraak he has started to become increasingly tanged with things greater than him, and he has taken great time to study the Elder Scroll in his possession. He has peeked into the Scroll several times despite knowing its destructive nature. If he just could see something in there! He has kept his "hobby" a secret from Faralda and people in general, but it will eventually catch up with him. Ending up life Septimus is a thing Anemar fears greatly, but he refuses to stop pursuing power he feels he deserves as Dragonborn.
As of this moment, Anemar is currently anticipating the final battle with Alduin. The dragon has been captured and ready to fly him to the final battle. He hesitates, however, and feels he is not ready. But soon will be the time. He has vowed to himself that he will propose to Faralda, should he survive the trip.
Recently he has been contacted by the Dawnguard. While slaying vampires is a noble goal, the other side has that one thing Anemar as a seeker of long life strongly craves for...
