Saves messed up

Post » Sun Mar 31, 2013 2:00 pm

I've started playing Skyrim again today after a long break. I installed Dragonborn and several mods, all of which seem to have been running fine - I've entered and exited the game several times throughout the day, and had no trouble saving and re-loading.

However, I have accumulated a large number of saved games for Skyrim over the months I've played it previously - close to a thousand - and I decided to do a little bit of spring-cleaning. After exiting Steam, I manually moved most of my older saved games out of my Saves folder.

When I next loaded up Skyrim, all my remaining saves now have images of static as their screenshot images, and when I try to load one the game crashes with no error message. I've tried moving the old saves back into the folder, but the problem persists.

Can anyone provide a solution - hopefully one that doesn't require starting from scratch?

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I just had a couple of corrupt saves - I managed to load from a prior save and things seem to be working okay now.
