DLL files missing on Win 8

Post » Sun Mar 31, 2013 12:06 pm

So after I installed skyrim on my laptop with Win 8, I tried to run it and a message popped out that the x3daudio_17 or something was missing. So, I downloaded the file and put in both Sys32 and 64 folders and restarted. When I tried to lauch on the second time, it said that the d3dx9_42 file was missing. I will have to download each file? Is it normal? Thanks :D

If you purchased the game through Steam the files should be installed automatically.

The disk version of Skyrim should also contain the appropriate files.

Specifically, you'll need to run the installer for the latest Direct X 9 runtime.

Oh, I think thats the problem. I just copied the folder from the hardrive of my computer and pasted it on my laptops hardrive. Kinda weird, as I did the same exact thing on my other computer and worked nicely.
