Just some thoughts about 4 & 5.

I was playing skyrim and started thinking, why did I have more fun playing Oblivion then Skyrim.

I thought hard about it and I think thart 5 has moved away from being an RPG.

It still has some RPG elements but I just don't like the skills or the leveling system.

I play Dugeons and Dragons allot and one of the reasons I first started playing Elder Scrolls Games is because it reminded me of DnD. I like the atttribute system that Oblivion used it added allot to the game.

I mean if I'm playing an Orc Male his Melee skills should not have Identical stats to that of a High Elf at the same skill level. The older Elder Scrolls games had allot of things I liked that when they released Skyrim they took out, I'm not going to list every thing but I will give some examples.

I liked the unarmored and unarmed skills and I liked how some where Minor and some where Major skills, I loved the leveling system in the older ones except I hated needing to sleep to Level up, that is one of the upsides to Skyrim is you can level on the go. But it makes it so that you have no need to sleep, I think if they are going to take the time to include food and beds they might as well add realistic fatigue to the game so that people don't just ignore those features.

I love allot of Bethesda games, I played Dishonored recently and I liked the combat system of that game allot better than the one in the Elder Scrolls games. The animation seems beter and the sword play is more fluid and feels less like I'm just waving my weapon in my opponents face till they die. I am not trying to be rude but the Elder Scrolls franchise could do with some sort of combat overhaul to make melee combat more entertaining and less stale.

I just feel that when Bethesda makes 6 that they should try to listen to their fans complaints about 5, I hope I'm not alone in feeling that in some ways Oblivion was far better.

You certainly aren't alone in feeling that the Elder Scrolls has moved away from many of its core elements, including RPG themes in favor of a more action-adventure business model.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's any indication that Bethesda sees yours, mine, and others concerns like these to be issues. Why should they? Skyrim is a run-away best seller, so from a commercial standpoint the current trend/formula works pretty well.
