DiD with no music, no fast travel, and no HUD.

Who else plays this way?

After a year of playing Skyrim from release I got bored and went back to Vardenfell and Cyrodiil for a few months. Now I am back in Skyrim and enjoying sneak archery with no music or HUD. You have to really pay attention to know if you are hidden or not and to is a challenge to make those long sneak shots with no HUD. But bows have no crosshairs in real life, and it seems much more immersive to play this way. And I approach the game differently when playing DiD. Seems more connected to the character. I am enjoying Skyrim again.

I turned the music off the day of release and never turned it back on.
I have always played DID, unless I'm testing.
I installed the iHUD mod when I got the PC version and turned the compass off. I only have the M / H / S appear when they are being used.

All of those are things I have done. Except no music. That would ruin it for me, personally. I would lose all immersion. That's just me though. Glad you are enjoying Skyrim :D .

Don't often play with HUD because I like my subtitles on (often when I play there's enough background noise that I can't hear a couple of words from every sentence said), so I only play with the compass turned off from the ini file. Don't play without the music either since I really like music in games, especially when it is as good as TES music.

But playing with no HUD on Legendary in DiD "mode" definitely sounds awesome (DiD being another thing I never tried), I think I'll try that with my next character. Actually considered something like that, along with all the mods I'll be able to find that make the player to pay attention to some real-life like stuff (like a mod that makes you eat, the well known hypothermia mod and stuff like that). It'll be a real task choosing a race for such character though. :P
