Was just starting a new character or two, went back to the old save, right before Hadvar says, "who... are you?". Basically, I've decided to try out some new character types.

But I'm going through the tunnels in Helgen and it won't let me save. Is this normal? I basically just wanted to set up a few different characters but it wouldn't allow me to save. Does the game normally not allow you to save your progress until after you've completed Unbound?

Just curious, b/c I ran out of time and head to get back to work. (real life and all)... I'm on PS3, if that matters.

I've been able to save right after creating my character, plus the game hard saves for you as soon as you get off the carriage.

yes, it's the carriage hard save that I wanted to exploit, start over at that point, several times and just go through a few character creation points, so when I get more time, I could just start out without having to sit through the beheading each time. But when I want to the menu, the save option was grayed out. In fact none of the system prompts were available.

could this be a bug? just my luck.

you can save right adter stepping off the cart.
