I am playing Skyrim on a PS3 (with Dragonborn installed), and I am trying to perfect my lockpicking skill. The problem is, the skill is stuck at 91 (and a third). No matter how many master level locks I pick, the skill won't increase. I did manage to reach 93 before I encountered this (glitch?), but when I did I reloaded an earlier save, and I can't still increase the skill. I am at level 41 and I have the skeleton key, but that shouldn't make any difference, right?

Hmm, have your tried waiting or travelling after you picked the locks? Or maybe save after you picked the locks and load that save, to see if you got the exp.

Well, I'm not sure about that, since I've never had to bother with leveling up lockpicking. However, in TES: IV, the Security skill would be increased by (40? 60?) levels, which would then make it virtually impossible to level up more with the key. I am not sure how it works in TES: V, but it would make sense if it worked in a similar fashion

I'm wondering if it's caused by the Skeleton Key. I don't think it is though.

its not. i have the key as well and my skill levels normally try loading an older save..something probbably is corrupted in your current save file

I'm ashamed to admit it, but that was all it took. I traveled to Markarth, and waited till night. Then I could increase the skill.

So, you can't increase the lockpicking skill by picking the same locks all over again?
