Solstheim feels... so depressing

The southern shores are covered in ashes, the skeletons of burnt trees dotting the landscape; the air is thick with a grey haze. The norther part is a frozen wasteland and while the landscape is, at times, impressive I don't get the same vibes of savage beauty I feel when traversing Skyrim northern lands.

It seems the whole island is suspended in a state of decay, slow but tangible. Even the Telvanni settlement is but a shadow of the intricate mushroom towns found in Vvanderfell.

Don't get me wrong, I like the expansion, but when I'm over with the quests, I'm more than happy to go back to the Mainland and never look back. I don't envy the NPC living there. :)
