Thinking of trying the game...

To the Xbox 360 players~

Welp, i loved Fallout 3 *until the bugs/glitches/freezes broke the game ~grumble~* and i have heard a lot about it over the years, the companion system and hardcoe mode seem quite appealing, but yet at the same time the vast ocean of complaints made against the game are really off putting...*hence why i haven't played it yet*. Any who, my questions are as follows~

1) In terms of buggyness, is it like Fallout 3? Worse? My experience ended up ruined when i would get constant graphical glitches, freezes, crashes, fps drops ect. Do these problems persist on NV? Aka, does the game end up unplayable the longer you play with your main save file?
2) How was your experience with the game as a whole in terms of buggyness to fun ratio? Did the game draw you in enough/have enough good points to allow you to continue to play?
3) What bugs persist to this day? What should i expect/be prepared for?
4) How are the followers in this game? In FO3 some would die in a few hits, while others would be like heavy armoured tanks that would barely take 1 bar of life even from a super mutant behemoth. Basically, do you constantly have to worry about your followers? Are they more of a hindrance than an ally? Charon seemed to have some pretty badass AI *until he bugged out and started dying in 1 hit ~cries~*, how are followers in NV?
5) How much playtime did you get out of the game?
6) Did the patches break more than they fixed?
7) In FO3 i avoided using VATS and it worked well, but is NV built more so around it? Or can you avoid using it still.
8) What did you like about the game, and what did you hate?

I can't really think of any more questions, but I’ll add more when i think of any :D

I played New Vegas first on PS3 and it was laggy as hell, froze, and just got unplayable as your save file got bigger. I then bought the Ultimate Edition for the 360 and it was WAY better on the 360, compared to the ps3. Its a bethesda game, so you are still going to get the occasional freeze, or lag, or odd bug. But I found it to be minimal on the 360 version for the Ultimate Edition. I had a much better experience on the 360 with fallout new vegas ultimate edition.

And with VATS, they nerfed VATS in new vegas anyways. So you won't notice any difference if you rarely used it in FO3. I wasn't a fan of it being nerfed, but at the same time I understand why they did it with New Vegas. It is too easy to be in God Mode in FO3.

Theres a lot more to explore in FO3, but New Vegas is the better overall game. Better quests, writing, tough decisions, hardcoe mode is awesome. Makes the game tougher, but in a good way. I have a tough time going back to Fallout 3 after playing New Vegas so much now. Mostly because of the writing and characters are much stronger in New Vegas.

Good to hear about the ultimate edition for xbox, and im glad they changed VATS, it was just stupidly easy to kill things in FO3 with it, it was like having some kind of aim hack on or something. I don't expect it to be completely bug free, but if it's crashing/freezing/lagging/stuttering while im playing *like Skyrim is* then it's a no deal =s even FO3 wasn't THAT bad.
