hahahahahaha, proof that having more than one GPU is a waste of money.

Only if games don't stay optimized for them. But a lot of ppl like myself just wanted to build a crushing rig chasing those overclock.net dreams, albeit my cards are "outdated" now...Before the patch was perfect so I cant say they were a waste but my next build will be center around 1 card.

edit: I think where multi-cards shine are on things like nvidia surround and eyefinity. Only recently have using just 1 or 2 cards proven to shine in that arena. 2 years ago you really needed those 3 cards to shine at 5780x1080 and even now these 580's have barely enough vram to blast through these crazy new games. c2 on nvidia surround was a blissful experience....

I highly recommend it, you're better off with say one 660 than 2 560's. Also your computer wont be using as much power, or need as big of a power supply. Plus you might be able to save yourself some money on the mobo too.

Hell, the way graphics cards are made, and how rapid a new one hits the market, I wouldn't throw out the idea of buying a used graphics card. There are a lot of nerds out there who just buy the new graphics cards because they are new, then they go on forums and complain that there isn't enough of a performance boost.

I bought my 560TI used from an old man who was using 2 560 Ti's in SLI and when I asked him what games he played he told me Quake 2, lol the tech for Quake 2 topped out like 10 years ago.

Yes yes, multi-GPU's are necessary for more than one monitor. But other than that....

Ive often thought about picking up used. But then I wonder how much they oc'd it or beat on it but for the right price it may not be a bad idea. The 560 ti's are nice. I have one of the kinda rare 560 ti 2's with the only difference being it has 2gb vram. I don't use it for sp in c3 but on mp I will use low settings which gives me super smooth play and the card wasn't too expensive.....(560 ti used a gtx 460 waterblock and was <$50usd)
