In Morrowind, they were pretty much Spies
In Oblivion, they were Body Guards and a Private Army that answered to no one but the Septims
and in Skyrim, they are an Ancient Order of Dragon Slayers.


Seriously, it seems any job worth doing, the Blades have done it in some form or another.

does Bethesda just like the name "The Blades"? because they seem to be in every game, and their "roles" seem to be... loosely tied at best...

Seriously, I admire the Blades for what they did, but now they just reek of jaded attitudes.

Besides, they couldn't do anything in Skyrim without the Dragonborn's help. That's just my opinion though.
