Never Played as a Vampire...

Post » Fri Apr 05, 2013 11:37 pm

I've never played as a vampire because I always thought the negatives were far outweighed by the positives -- meaning taking sun damage & not being able to go to towns w/o them being automatically hostile. So, aside from using the necromage perk, any advice? Like where to go to sell loot.

Basically, I'm not really interested in any games right now & I'm looking for time to kill while impatiently waiting for 1.9. I don't watch TV, so all my hobby time goes to gaming & baseball, but I figure passing the time as a vampire would offer a different perspective on the game till (if) 1.9 gets on XBL.

If you have Dawnguard, nobody will be hostile to you, even at stage 4.

If you don't, they will only be hostile at stage 4, but that just means you should go to an inn or farmhouse late at night.

I do have Dawnguard. So that means I can become vamp & visit towns normally regardless of stage? I caught vampirism once w/o dealing with it earlier in the game's life & I couldn't go near a town w/o being attacked.

You don't take sun damage as a vampire.
You do get reduced stats and your health and stamina don't regenerate.

Then... why not try playing the vampire to see what you think of it? After all, if you don't care about the game until 1.9, it's not like you're investing in a character, right?

Being a vampire does have its perks, too, but I'm not going to spoil those for you. Figure them out for yourself.

This which I might add, is very moot once your a high enough level. The only downside I see is the 50% weakness to fire, but you get 50% resistance to frost so. And spells still tend to bounce right off my vampire anyway. The Necromage perks makes being a vampire better.
