Why is the Heart of Lorkhan considered evil?

Post » Sat Apr 06, 2013 3:15 pm

Hello everyone

I was reading up on the Tribunal and Dagoth Ur, and I kept noticing their pages on the UESP continuously referred to as "evil," but never really explains why this is the case. Is this just due to the fact that from the Mer perspective, Lorkhan was considered an evil entity, or is there something more that I'm not knowing here, since I've yet to play Morrowind?

Thank you

Well, it looks like USEP got that info from Aldmeri views of Lorkhan. The Altmer (In general) views Lorkhan as an evil trickster that took the divinity of the mortal races. (Or just the the Elhnofey and their descendants) So that would mean his heart is evil.

Could you link to the page or passage? Merrish(Save for Dunmer) perspectives will likely classify him as evil for tricking the aedra into creation.

Oops. Sure that might be important.

Lorkhan is the soul of Sithis.

The Khajiit and Yokudans also believe his Heart to be evil/dark, so it's not just the Aldmer who hold that belief.

Sounds like a biased article to me. The Heart is not objectively "evil". In fact, it is literally the Heart of the World. There are many people who revere it as a most sacred artifact.
