When we summon the Winged Snow Hunter and having the Dragonborn DLC can we ride dragons or do we only get to ride a dragon while defeating Miraak ?

You can ride dragons outside of the DLC. As for Odahving, I think so.

Unsure about Durny.

Durny ?

Durnehviir. For some reason I call him and Paarthurnax by a more playful name. Durny and Paarthy. Ody just sounds weird, along with Aldy.

Durny ?

Durnehviir. No, you can not ride him as he is a summon.

I'm pretty sure you can ride Odahving though. As he isn't a summon and is not on a timer.

I tried calling Odaving once , but he just flew around me and did not land for me to be able to ride him.

Try heading to the Throat of the World and using Bend Will there. Might work. He circles around there.

You used the bend will shout on him? You might need to do it while in combat.

Ok will try. What do you mean in combat ?

I think I will have to use Call Dragon > Dragonrend> Bend Will

Just use the Bend Will shout on him when he's flying, you don't need to be in combat and he won't get mad if you shout at him.

That will cause him to land and let you ride him.

Thank You. Durnehviir is the dragon we take from Miraak right ?

In combat, call him when battling a group of enemies or something. This should give you time for Call Dragon cooldown to subside so that you can use Bend will.

No, Durnehviir is from Dawnguard DLC. You meet him in the Soul Cairn.

No, Durnehviir is a dragon you make friends with in the Soul Cairn in Dawnguard. svcks that he can't be ridden, but at least he has a kickass name (Curse Never Dying)

EDIT: Oops, someone beat me to replying ;_;

You don't need to use Dragonrend on dragons to ride them, just all three words of Bend Will. That goes for Odahviing as well.

Durnehviir is the dragon from the Dawnguard DLC.

Odaving disappears before the cooldown of Call Dragon shout, so I can't shout Bend Will or Dragonrend.

Are you saying we can summon him only in combat ? What if I am inside a cave during combat ?

You have to use the wait function just as he arrives, get him at the top of the Throat of the World, or use the restoration glitch to have unlimited shouts.

Just call Odahviing "Big O" or something.

No, you don't have to. I just recommended it to keep Odahving busy while your cooldown wears off.
