Brunwulf Free-Winter Not In the Grey Quarter?

Post » Sat Apr 06, 2013 4:04 pm

Anyone else had this stupid bug? When you first go to the grey quarter in windhelm Malthyr is just standing there talking to Brunwulf who is nowhere to be seen?

Very complicated bugs I can understand, but bugs such as this, that a mentally handicapped 12 year old could spot, 3 patches and nearly 2 years after release is laughable, but then again it seems like that's about the level of most bethesda employees these days.

Anyway, does anyone know a fix for this or is it simply there? Also does brunwulf have any dialogue during the conversation at all?

I have a savegame before entering windhelm which I've reloaded and and it still happens consistently. :stare:

Thanks Colonel. So does this happen every time for you too? What platform are you on by the way ps3/xbox/pc?

It started after some of the patches for me. It used to work perfectly fine. If I had to guess, I'd say it was after the first blood on the ice fix. I'm on xbox 360.

I'm on PC and this happens to me almost every playthrough.

I sometimes also have Idolaf Battle-Born missing when he has his conversation with Adrianne Avenicci about swords for the Legion. Always figured that it was a mod causing it but never could get any solid evidence either way.

I have him missing in the conversation with Eorlund's wife and Idolaf's father. I found him once, and he's actually talking as if he's there during the event. This only happened to me recently, so I think Dragonborn caused it. But I'm just guessing.

Ah yes, I have that sometimes as well. Personally I blame patch 1.8, since after that was when I started noticing it.

I don't want to sound angry but i really don't think that by insulting the creators of Skyrim, you are going to get an accelerated fix. With tens and even hundereds of processes running at the same time, you must realise that some of these bugs are to be expected from such a complicated game.

Rant aside this does sound like a strange bug, as if the process for tracking the movement of the NPC's has gone wrong. This is also what some people consider to be the same system that causes NPC's to effectivley 'dodge' arrows, as the program may 'shove' the NPC to the side as there was a mistake as to where the NPC was standing exactly. I do not think i am qualified to talk about this issue to a greater extent though, but i hope it gets a fix as much as you. But that WONT be achieved by insulting the very people that bought you this game in the first place.

Happy Easer to all!
