I cruised into Falkreath today because I was ready to buy my land there and build my Hearthfire mountain manor home. I had just finished up the "kill the bandit leader" quest for the Jarl, but when I went to inform him of my success, he addressed me as, "you miserable wretch." He then proceeded to tell me how great I was and he told me I was welcome to purchase land in Falkreath and that all I had to do was talk to the steward. However, the steward (yes, I talked to the "right" steward) did not offer me a dialogue option for purchasing land, and the Jarl would not give me any other dialogue options. I am also not able to become Thane of Falkreath. I had already done all the "rare gift" quests, so that was not an issue.

I did kill the Jarl's housecarl for the Dark Brotherhood, but I am playing a 100% stealth-based character and I made triply sure that *NO ONE* saw me at any point. I cannot just reload a save prior to killing the housecarl, as that was over 100 hours of gameplay ago, and a large chunk of that time was already repeat quests due to a bug where I ended up as both a werewolf AND a vampire and stuck at permanent stage 4 vampirism due to being unable to feed (because I was a werewolf...). I don't want to have to do all these quests a THIRD time.

I paid good money to get bonus content and I am now locked out of the best part of it because of a bug. I am playing on the Xbox 360 so I cannot hack my way out of this. I know I am not the only one having this issue. Please, Bethesda, fix this bug as soon as possible. It directly prevents us from accessing content that we paid a premium for. I could understand that there would be consequences if I had gotten caught doing the killing, but that Jarl had absolutely no way to know that I was involved in any way. I went to great lengths to ensure that. This is not CSI: Skyrim. I hope that you will do the right thing and stand by your product and your fans. I adore your games; I just want to be able to play them. Thank you very much for listening.

In case I have your attention, I also have about four bounties now to turn in to the Jarl at Dawnstar and he will not accept ANY of them- I do not get paid, and they sit forever in my "miscellaneous quest" queue going nowhere. There a lots of us having this problem as well.

DLC's don't get patched, unfortunately.
