Expansion Pack Idea - Expedition to Atmora

Post » Tue Apr 09, 2013 10:38 am

If you didn't know, Atmora is the continent were the Nords hailed from, which they had to abandon.

Okay, so scholars and archaeologists from College of Winterhold and the Empire (Stormcloaks if you sided with them for the Civil war) are funding an expedition to Atmora. They plan to go further into the continent than other explorers have.

The Dragonborn is requested to assist the Legionnaires/Stormcloaks escort the academics safely for their journey.

After they go deeper into Atmora they uncover a lost civilization of Snow Elves that had escaped Skyrim after the Nords conquered Skyrim and the Dwarves blinded the Snow Elves.

Yeah I'm not sure where else to go but I'm sure you guys or possibly Bethesda could do better when it comes to the story. Maybe there can be a way the Thalmor are implemented as well. Like they had a secret expedition to search for artifacts which could hasten the end of man.

Any thoughts?

There's not much in Atmora other than ice and probably more snow. If beth made it interesting, I wouldn't mind the idea of going there. More ancient ruins and abandoned villages...

Maybe if the place thaws out considerably. I feel like I've seen enough snow and ice in Skyrim and Solstheim, to have a decently sized (landmass wise) DLC that would be mostly ice doesn't interest me much.

Maybe with the return of the dragons the dragon priests in Atmora awoke and started thawing the place out with insane displays of magic? :o

Well, the idea for a Snow Elf colony should make it more interesting and Atmora may have thawed by the Fourth Era.

I'd rather get some more insight on the Dragon Cult and early Nords in general. Would go with Skyrim's dragon theme too.

But wouldn't oppose a trip to Atmora of course I've often found myself standing on top of one of the icebergs at the Norther coast, gazing into North in my Ancient Nord Armor.

Atmora is practically so cold that it froze itself to desolation. Unless Nirn were to go through a serious global warming, I don't see the chance of a DLC taking place there.

Yeah, finding out more about the Dragon Cult in Atmora would be interesting. Maybe even have a chance to talk with a Dragon Priest lich of sorts? That would be a great opportunity.
