Is Frost even worth it?

Post » Tue Apr 09, 2013 6:58 pm

I mean, seriously. We are in Skyrim. Skyrim is where the Nords are. The Nords resist Frost.

And since some enemies that are weak to fire are resistant to frost, I wonder if I should even bother learning a frost spell.

It's useful on Solsthiem.

I would agree if I had Dragonborn.

Nords aren't resistant to the slow effect from frost.

I looks better than fire imo. Its one of the only spell types that I think looks great equipped. That icy mist coming off your hand(s). <3

It works well on just about all fire using enemies and my "pure mage" finds using ice spike and ice storm especially useful for slowing down charging enemies in certain situations. I really quite like it and if used properly it can be a great asset in tight situations.

That, and their range is short.

Dual casted Ice Storm in a corridor, and it doesn't matter if you're 50% resistant to frost

Ice slows down enemies and decreases their stamina, so i use it against melee fighters. Many of those are nords, but those effects apply to them regardless.

Which makes no sense when a thunderbolt in real life has no apparent limit on range.

It does. For each centimeter of air 10,000 Volts are needed for electicity to strike trough it :nerd: Thunderbolts have millions of volts of voltage, though.

Though how real physics relates to magic thunderbolts is questionable.
