The result of course is now I'm really interested in making a new character specifically to play the role of the Dovahkiin and complete the main quest as well as to do the main quest in the Dragonborn DLC. My current idea in a rough draft is as follows;
- Helgen-Riverwood-Whiterun to kick start the MQ and spawn Dragons into the world.
- Answer the Greybeards Summons.
- Retrieve Horn from Delphine and then go back to Greybeards without starting Delphines quest.
- Train with the Greybeards, getting those radiant quests for word wall locations.
- Level my skills while pursuing those word wall radiant quests (see skills below).
- Gradually reduce shout cooldown via resto potions as my skill in alchemy grows.
- When strong enough return to Delphine to begin rest of the MQ.
- Always be present at Dragon Burial Mounds for stage 3 and 4 events (http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Burial_Mounds) to showcase Dovahkiin as pursuing Alduin as often as possible.
- Meditate with Paarthy once far enough in MQ as well as doing his radiant quest(s).
- Dragonborn DLC during/after vanilla MQ?
Insofar as skills go I'd be getting Alchemy, one-handed, block and heavy armour as my main ones. With some smithing and enchanting (just the 5/5 starter one and the +25% skill enchant). I won't be using any magic at all from a playstyle perspective aside from enchanting for +alchemy gear for shout reduction and potions, +health and +stam regen rate.
However, I would like your help in maximizing the power of the shouts! What perks from what skill trees add to the shouts? I vaguely recall reading that the +fire/frost damage perks in destruction tree actually increases the relevant fire/frost shouts too? Is that correct and is there any other perks I would need to get for shouts?
Roleplay wise I would like to think my character already knows he is the Dovahkiin or at least knows that there is something different about himself than anyone else he has ever met. I read a post at one point that was talking about how the Dovahkiin, and perhaps Dragons in general (can't remember fully), would be drawn ever onward unto more power and knowledge. So I'm curious what ideas you guys have regarding the fuel or motivation of the Dragonborn? I won't be creating a backstory for him as thats not generally something I do anymore. I would however like to have an idea and understanding of why my Dragonborn pursues his destiny and confrontation with Alduin and Miraak so intently.

I don't plan on him joining any of the guild factions and I am wholly undecided in regards to the Civil War. Would he ignore it as being a petty squabble between man or would he try to resolve it as to better unite the people against the Dragons? The side doesn't matter much, that can be decided later, just whether he would involve himself in the Civil War at all or not?
In dealings with NPCs he will be mostly quiet. Respectful of their right to voice their opinion but not necessarily sharing his own - him knowing he was already Dragonborn for example and simply going along with the conversation and assumptions that the NPCs make, that he char doesn't know what he is already. So he would always heed his own counsel more than others and be quite a lone warrior, likely not taking companions/followers on his journeys except perhaps at the lower levels (or until I get that no damage to allies in combat effect from one of the Black Books).
Imma leave the topic at that at the moment, though I've probably missed a lot of stuff I originally wanted to ask... ohwells though!

So, thoughts?
