TES Lore and Norse Mythology?

Post » Wed Apr 10, 2013 12:20 am

I was looking at Skyrim's lore earlier and was wondering just how much of it actually relates to Norse mythology. From what I can tell, the closest anologues using the Monomyth (and Voluspa?) relate Anu/Padomay to the order vs. chaos conflict and the AEsir/jotunn. There's a lot of cultural appropriation regarding both the Norse pantheon and the Nordic one. Some of the Aedra have Norse counterparts; Akatosh/Odinn, Dibella/Frigg, Mara/Sif, Alduin/Jormungandr, Talos/Thor/Loki/I don't know what I'm saying anymore why did I think this was a good idea how does TES Lore even relate to Norse mythology mythically.

And also I might be trying to see if I can write a term paper on this.
