Vampirism Discussion

Post » Tue Apr 09, 2013 10:23 pm

Hello Everybody.
Before you read the actual thing, this is not a thread of "Level-Stat-Power-OP-Weak"

Today I've contracted http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Sanguinare_Vampiris for the first time ever and decided to flow with it..
Now it is said that when the disease progresses the contracted person 'dies' and becomes Undead.
So what becomes with the person's soul ? consciousness ? personality ?

Feel free to discuss

I have no idea, but I role played so that I was a completely different creature. Then, when I got cured, I woke up amnesiac. Made for an intriguing RP.

Now that's a fine response, Learn to answer like that people !!! ( At least in my threads :P )
Yes I did that once too, in Oblivion I think, I imagined that I was so corrupted and consumed by the disease so I was some sort of a zombie.

I know this isn't what you asked, but is there a difference at all between Sanguinare Vampiris and Porphyric Hemophilia? Because I still say the latter. I wasn't sure if there was regional differences or not.

Yes these are two different diseases if I'm not mistaken, the latter being the Cyrodiilic Vampires and the first the Skyrim Volkihar Vampires..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspended_animation

I think that it's some type of suspended animation that slows down your internal organs and cells causing you to age very very very very slow while having a pulse that can't be picked up by normal means. As for the need of blood, maybe that's all their body can process for vitamins and nutrients. So the person isn't really dead but thought to be.

Or maybe Beth never put much thought into the concept.

This is a good thread - I looked into both Vampirism and Lycanthropy as possible options for my new PC. However, the benefits don't seem to be worth the trouble unless you somehow combine the disease with a certain type of character. For example, a vampire who joins the Dark Brotherhood seems natural and believable. Not sure about how best to leverage lycanthropy. Anyone care to share their experiences as a vampire and whether or not it was worth it?

Well I have a Vampire Overhaul so they are amazing.
I actually have an Illusion spell named " Mortal's Mask " which changes your face from the monstrous glowing Vampire into what you really are.
