Modding (and fixing) PS3 saves

Post » Thu Apr 11, 2013 1:53 pm

I play the PS3 (console) version of Skyrim, which is very buggy (there are many broken quests). In the PC version you can either use the codes to fix this, or download an unofficial patch, but you can't install unofficial patches or use the codes on neither PS3 nor Xbox360.

The thing is, I have found a toolkit of some sort (http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=50388), that is supposed to convert the PS3 save file into PC save files, so that you can edit them the PC way and convert them back to PS3 format.

This would be great, but does it work? I have heard most people say that you can't fix broken quests on consoles, so I'm not sure whether I should try this or not.

Discussion of modding console versions (or there saves) is not permitted on these boards. This thread will be locked.

Oh, I didn't mean to break the rules. I assumed modding for the sole reason of fixing a save wouldn't really count as breaking that particular rule.

I figured as much, but talking about a save game from another platform still falls under that rule. From how I understand it anyways, it's a slippery slope. Also, using console commands to alter quests isn't really a solution. You can potentially cause other problems doing that.
