Updating from 1.8 to 1.9, ensuring mod stability

So right now I am still running 1.8 with all mods supported for that version. Some of the mods I have are updated with new functionality that I'd like to use.

What is the best way to upgrade Skyrim and mods in order to maintain mod stability as a whole? For example, here are some of the mods I have running that might be affected:

1. SkyUI
2. SKSE
3. USKP
4. ScriptDragon
5. Frostfall
6. Primary Needs
7. Dual Sheath Redux
8. Dance of Death
9. Deadly Dragons
10. More Hotkeys Please

I'm there are a few more, but these are "core" mods as far as I'm concerned.

Is there a specific method I should follow?
